Just setting up my KarpathyTalk.

A brief note on why I built this.

I am really tired of social media platforms like X/Twitter, Threads, Substack trying to capture you as a user. They want to control your data. They want to show you slop, bait you into rage and monetize your engagement to return VCs multiples. Their products inevitably enshittify. Not only is all human activity getting worse on these platforms due to professional influencers trying to make a buck from your attention, but the AI activity is increasingly getting out of control and regretted attention is rising.

I want a place where I can come together with other human builders. Builders who are positive, enthusiastic, thoughtful, who want to build a better world. A place of good vibes. Bad vibes are not allowed. If you wish to critique something that's okay, but it has to be constructive.

KarpathyTalk will be maximally user-aligned. Your data is yours and will be exportable. There will no lock-ins or other bs.

Concerning AI: KarpathyTalk is a friend of the AIs. The app will be agents-friendly and developer-friendly on Read (meaning automation can easily read content here), but it will be very human-focused on Write. By default, and if not labeled otherwise, it is assumed that every post was written by a Human. If a substantial portion of your post was written by an AI, you have to prominently declare this is the case. Users who create AI activity without labeling it will be flagged and banned. It's possible that we will allow agents to participate in some limited ways in the future but only with clear and explicit labeling.

TLDR just be nice, positive, constructive and collaborate with other humans to build a better world thanks.
